BELGIUM: Pray:
  • Missionary friends write:
    • "We want to share with you the results of your prayers, our friend from Iran was baptized at the church.  The church was so crowded that the children had to sit on the floor. But the most precious moment came as this Iranian brother shared his testimony.  He spoke of contacts he had had with Christians in the past, but that the timing just wasn't right.  Then he came to the Center.  B. was able to share with him what it meant to follow Christ. He accepted Christ. Afterwards as B. prepared to baptize this Iranian Christian, he spoke to the congregation of their responsibility to encourage him and to help him grow.  By way of demonstrating their commitment, B asked those who would take on this responsibility to stand.  As one the entire congregation immediately stood. It was a testimony to the cohesiveness of this group of believers."
      • Note:  PWO was able to send several sets of the "10 Basic Steps for Christian Growth" and other Persian Christian materials for the Iranian believers there.

GREECE: Pray for:
  • Pray for N & R, a dedicated Iranian Christian couple who are ministering among Persian speaking refugees.  N. and his wife write:
    • "Please pray for F., an Afghan lady in Athens who has not accepted Christ. She has many young sons."  N. continues his letter: "At the end of a service I asked who wanted to receive Jesus.  One boy raised his hand.  Then he went to the prayer room while his parents were talking and eating. This teenage boy said, 'I want to receive Jesus now.  I knew Him (Jesus) from Iran.  I bought one small book about Him in Tehran.  I read it secretly.  I knew something about Him.  One month ago, I took New Testament here and read it.  I am ready to receive Jesus now and also my parents.'" I said, "Go, call them!"  After asking many question to confirm their faith in Jesus, I led them in prayer for acceptance.  They knew that they were sinners and that the only way for salvation is Jesus who came to flesh and died for the sins of many. The  boy and his parents opened their hearts and received Jesus. This is the work of Jesus in the lives of people who are coming through Helping Hands".
