USA - NEW JERSEY / NEW YORK:
  • The December 7th JFM banquet was a great blessing to many.   168 people were present, including 29 MBBs from 12 different ethnic backgrounds.  There were good reports of the various ministries among Muslims, and the evening concluded with many good testimonies from the MBBs.  A good group of Iranian MBBs was there, and brother M.'s message was greatly used of the Lord.  One real answer to prayer is that an Iranian fellowship was initiated at the banquet and has now begun meeting in NY City every Saturday for Bible study and the last Saturday of every month for worship services.   There were 14 Iranians at their first worship service on Dec 21st.

I find it to be of the Lord and am glad for serving that group even that is much further away than the other group. RUSSIA:
  • "Hello! I’m Russian. I’m Christian. I feel in my heart a calling to serve Iranians. I believe one day I will go there to become missionary. Right now am preparing myself to that: I learn Persian language, history of Iran, culture and other things regarding that country. Now the part of my personal ministry is work with foreign students, who live here. In general this is work with students from Asia (India, Bangladesh, etc).  It is very good ground to seat the Gospel in them. In a foreign country they are in a better position to the Gospel than in their own country. I believe some of them will go back to their countries as people who will bring a seed of faith in lives of others. On my close future I look forward to visit Iran."

TURKEY
  • An Iranian family was scheduled to leave for permanent residency in Canada on November 25.
Former Muslims from Iran, they became Christians when they were married, 22 years ago. Under Iran’s strict Islamic regime, Muslims who convert to Christianity can be executed for apostasy. So, after enduring growing harassment by secret police, the family fled to Turkey. There they were denied formal refugee status and last April denied immigration to Canada, making them vulnerable for deportation back to Iran. The family will not be deported to Iran, but flown to Canada. There, an Anglican church in Toronto pledged full sponsorship of the family. Praise the Lord! Rejoice with us for the mighty work the Lord has done in this family’s life. He is so good and powerful. Please pray for the family as well, as they prepare for their new life.

  • PERSIAN ORAL BIBLE PROJECT:

    • Please pray that Persians will soon have the Bible in a form that does not require print, cassettes or broadcasts.  The Persian Oral Bible Project contains several Bible stories that are passed along by word of mouth, preferably in small groups.  More than 40% of the Persian-Speaking World are unable to read the Bible because of illiteracy or physical handicaps like blindness.  Another 30% are functionally illiterate.  This means that 70% of Persians around the world prefer a story-based learning method.  Pray for the Persian Oral Bible as it is developed.  Soon Persians will have 100 Bible stories memorized from which they can make disciples as Jesus commanded.
